16th Graphic Expo to be Held on June 16 to 18, 2011

The 16th Graphic Expo and 2nd Photo-Video Expo 2011 is scheduled on June 16-18, 2010 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Manila, Philippines.

These twin events will feature a trade show and marketplace for creative and graphic design, digital photography & video, digital imaging, pre-press, print production, large format advertising, sign making, out-of-home, web publishing, multimedia and animation.

Graphic Expo and Photo-Video Expo 2011 will incorporate up-to-date seminars and lectures to be presented by industry experts on relevant topics, tips and techniques, adopting latest products and technology innovations.

Overall, last year's event attracted more than 10,000 serious trade show visitors/delegates with high proportion from businessmen/entrepreneurs, corporate communicators, creative professionals, service bureaus/providers, marketing/advertising suppliers, sign makers, publishers, print shop owners, and commercial printers, amongst others. There were 45 learning seminar sessions, 20 product presentations, and 40 industry experts presenting in last year's seminar sessions.

PRINTPROMOTION Print Media Management Conference

The Printing Industries Association of the Philippines hosted the PRINTPROMOTION Print Media Management Conference at the Grand Ballroom of Century Park Hotel on March 29, 2011. The event attracted more than 250 top printers in the Philippines with some bringing in 4 to 5 participants from their respective companies. During the conference, speakers who came all the way from Europe discussed the latest trends and developments in the industry.

Vocational Skills Training for Out-of-School Youth

The Philippine Printing Technical Foundation (PPTF) together with the Rotary Club of Makati-Jose P Rizal is presently conducting a vocational skills training program for out-of-school youth. Spearheading the project is PPTF Vice President and Rotary Club Past President Camille G. Kitane and PPTF President Atty. Dominador Buhain. The photo (top) shows the MOA signing ceremonies with officers of PPTF and Rotary Makati-J P Rizal, together with the participants.

The program, Introduction to the Graphic Arts and Printing Industry, covers the different stages of the printing process, from prepress, printing and postpress. The three months course started in March 22 and will end in June 30, 2011, with sessions being held every Tuesday and Thursday. There are 20 participants in the program, with ages ranging from 18 to 27 years old.

Training sessions are being conducted at the PPTF Training Center and at various printing plants of PPTF members for on-site exposure of the participants. Photo (at right) shows a session being conducted by Prof. Noel Bulawan of the Technical University of the Philippines (TUP).

The project is part of PPTF's commitment to human resource development in the industry.

15th National Printers Convention

The Printing Industries Association of the Philippines (PIAP) will hold the 15th National Printers Convention on September 12-13 at the Heritage Hotel, EDSA corner Roxas Blvd., Pasay City. The theme of the event is "Sustaining Growth through Continuous Innovation".

The first day of the convention will feature a series of seminars with topics aimed at helping delegates update their knowledge and understanding of the printing industry. Following are the seminar topics:

  • How to Improve Color Production from Design to Press 
  • Inspirational Message- Business Success 
  • Pressroom Trends 
  • CtP and Digital Trends 
  • Unified Workflow Solutions 
  • Unified Workflow 
  • Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) 
  • Strategic Management Change for Organizational Effectiveness 

The second day will involve a plant tour of progressive printing plants in the country.

 

 

 

Print Philippines Exhibition to be Held on September 14-17, 2011

The Print Philippines 2011 Exhibition, which is on its 7th consecutive year, will be held on September 14-17, 2011 at the World Trade Center, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.

Last year's Print Philippines 2010 was considered a succesful show with all available booths occupied by both domestic and foreign exhibitors. An increase in foreign exhibitors is expected this year.

Print Philippines 2011 is organized by the Printing Industries Association of the Philippines.

Print & Label Philippines 2011 Exhibition

Global-Link MP Events International, Inc., in partnership with the Philippine Center for Print Excellence, Inc. and the Philippine Printing Technical Foundation announced that the Print & Label Philippines 2011 Exhibition will be held on October 5-8, 2011. The venue for the event will be the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City, Philippines.

For the past six years, the exhibition has delivered a comprehensive showcase of technology, products and services for the printing and graphic design industry.
