PIAP Launches Print Excellence 2011
The Printing Industries Association of the Philippines, launched the Print Excellence 2011 printing
competition. The Print Excellence Award aims to give recognition to member print companies whose production of
printed materials represent the true meaning of the highest quality excellence for the year
20011.
The objectives of the competitions are:
- To give due recognition to companies which have continuously exhibited print excellence in a
given print category.
- To broaden and enhance the level of technigue in printing and exchange technical know-how within
the industry in order to upgrade the level of quality in printing.
- To demonstrate and show case the excellent quality of Philippine print
products.
- To give companies the promotional opportunities which would help develop extensive customer
satisfaction and loyalty.
The winners will be announced and awarded during the PIAP 48th Anniversary and Christmas event on
December 14, 2011.

PIAP Annual Election
The Printing Industries Association of the Philippines announced that
it will be holding its annual election for the members of the Board of Directors for the year
2012. The affair will be held on November 18, 2011at the Club Filipino, Greenhills, San Juan City. Presiding over the proceedings is the Election Committee composed of
Chairman Mr. Benny Ty Chairman and Members Ms. Soledan Aldave and Mr. Julius Magno.

Staying Dry
Although waterless printing has been around for a while, it’s
mostly been seen as a niche technology, but thanks to greater awareness of environmental issues, more
printers are now looking at going waterless
Ask a printer about consumables and they’ll mention things
like inks, paper and plates, but conventional printing presses use an enormous amount of water, a natural
resource that we are all starting to think about conserving.
